Israel`s Transportation Ministry announced in July that for the first time in Israel`s history, public transportation services will be offered to Arab settlements. Within two months, new public transportation bus lines will begin operating in Arab villages in the North and Center of Israel. Public transportation is planned to be introduced into all Arab towns and villages.
This is an unprecedented success for the rural Arab women who fought for mobility in their localities over the course of six years, through the project Women Demand Mobility facilitated by Kayan - Feminist Organization. Unable to travel from place to place, they were cut off from the work-force and economic activity, from health and social services, from educational institutions, and from participation in their communities.
"Friends, I want to attend an empowerment workshop, but it is difficult for me to come. If there is no man to drive me, I have to go by foot for an hour!" said a woman in Kayan`s empowerment group in 2003. This statement initiated the project, aiming to bring public transportation to all Arab towns and villages in Israel. At first, the women simply did by themselves what the state would not do for them. Only later, they realized that a reliable and sustainable service needs involvement from the state. This was the beginning of a major advocacy campaign directed towards the authorities, carried by women`s pressure groups in numerous villages, leading to today`s success.

It's a pity that britain is debating the law to either reduce the legal abortion period from 24 months or increase it! I believe there is no human fetus that is worthless no matter the age!
As a christian, i look at the act of abortion as a social evil that should be faught rather than condoned.
God bless and protect Uganda because i do not want to see such evil come over here. We have faught it before and we shall continue to fight it!
Could this be another sign that we are living in the last days?
BE BLESSED
How do I live my life?
I read over the events of the day
I do not let things happen as if they are taking place by chance/accident
I always seat down and spend a few moments in the evening to reflect on the day’s events by asking myself three (3) questions:
What things went well today?
What things went badly today?
What can I do to make it better tomorrow?
How do I feel about the things I come across in my day today life?
Broadly and most often, I get two (2) feelings;
Emotional - feeling Joy, Love, Happy, Sad, and low/down
Irrational - having reservations about everything I see

Africa is a God blessed place but our people are perishing for lack of knowledge, what our people need is orientation,we need to help each other to renovate or refoundation the improper. Sunganani, which means "look after each other" was the first child to be admitted to SOS Children's Village Blantyre in Malawi. At just one month old, little Sunganani found a home, a family and a mum - all on the same day!
The arrival of the contented little bundle was heralded by the sound of horn as a car approached the village. Sunganani's arrival at the village was typical for those who now live at the village. Upon the first toot of the horn everyone in the village gathers at the village gates to welcome the new arrival. As the sound of the horn gets louder and the car draws nearer, the smiling people break into songs of welcome and delight.
Soon, the car slowly drives into the village and comes to a halt. Quiet now, so as not to overwhelm the child, the crowd draws back while the village director, Ken Sakala, steps forward to give Sunganani a hug. Sunganani's SOS mother proudly introduces her new son to her friends, colleagues and the other little children who now call the village home.
Sunganani and his mum then retire to the family house so she can introduce him to his new brothers and sisters. Ken Sakala and his colleagues have already taken care to assure that Sunganani will have a family with both brothers and sisters of various ages. If he had already had a brother or sister, he/she would have joined the same house - SOS Children's Villages never separate siblings.
As the village father leaves the family so they have time to get to know each other better, a colleague comments to him, "Remember, the buildings are not alive without the children."
By the end of the first week of November, 28 children had found a secure and loving permanent home and family at SOS Children's Village Blantyre.
Of course, bringing children to the village does not always go smoothly. The children need time to adjust to their new environment and families and it is natural that this adjustment takes time. Many of the children have some very basic adjustments to make - it might be the first time that they have had access to a decent and healthy diet. It might be the first time that they have been shown love and affection.
The women who have been trained as SOS mothers and their supportive colleagues will be able to guide and support all the children who come to live in the village and treat them as individuals.
Ken Sakala, the village director, sums up his feelings about his responsibilities: "I recall the day when the first child was admitted to the village. I was very excited. I knew, as a father to these children, that I was responsible for looking after their souls. I realised that my real work as an SOS Children's Village director had really begun."
Dear Everyone,
My name is Karen im 28 years old. I am currently working as a classroom assistant teacher in a british school in dubai and handled children with special educational needs in the philippines.
Based on my experienced, families with children with special needs struggles financially and emotionally. Special Education in the philippines is very expensive plus the OT, PT and other related services.
To the majority of the family who cannot afford these services made the children with special needs to suffer more.
My friend Nea and I decided to save our money and work hard so that we can put up a school for less fortunate children with special education needs. Providing them all the therapy, mainstreaming and job placement for them. We wish to help them all through out but we don't know how to start.
At the moment Nea is taking her special needs course in the philippines and me in Dubai. We are trying out best in saving our income for the charity to be.
Sincerely,
karen

" A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel." ( Luke.2: 32)
Dear Friends of Bethel, and personally of mine,
I take this opportunity to Greet you once again in the name of Jesus!
Jesus said, " I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in Darkness." (Jn.12:46)
Christmas, is remembered and celebrated world, basically remembering the birth of the Son of God as a human child. And we add celebrations, banquets, parties, cultural programs and carol singing to receive gifts etc... etc...
Simon, to whom the lord announced that he would not die till he saw the Lord's CHRIST: announced that Christmas is, "LIGHT TO LIGHTEN THE GENTILES." Have you ever thought of this? And where do the gentiles live the most; IN INDIA and in other parts of the glob. Out of 100 billion and more 95% are gentiles. And 80% of them live in rural villages.
Bethel in South India is taking this LIGHT TO THE gentiles, this Christmas-2009. We will hold crusade meetings in our rural associate churches and in Bethel campus for 1 day, around the full week. We will feed the poor, beggars, lepers, and distribute free cloths to express the love in action and tell them that Jesus Loves them and cares for them and will ENLIGHTEN THEM WITH THE FULNESS OF LIFE."
I am here to ask your partnership as the Director and Senior pastor of Bethel Churches, to partner with us for this Christmas Crusade and fulfill the plan of God, enlightening some lives in India . Please! Pray for the presence of the Holy Spirit and for the harvest of Souls.

| 26/03/2009 - UN-HABITAT, the United Nations agency for human settlements has named the family strengthening programme in Salto an example of "Good Practice". In doing so, it has recognised the project as a model of sustainability, participation and integration. |

The Technical Advisory Committee of UN-HABITAT reviewed more than 470 projects, programmes and initiatives in October 2008. The submissions had been evaluated in a selection process that lasted a period of ten months beforehand and were selected from a number of programmes.
A total of 103 projects were classed as "Best Practices" and the family strengthening programme of SOS Children's Villages Uruguay in Salto was one of the 288 that were classed as being an example of "Good Practice".
The "Best and Good Practices" that were selected will be added to the database that UN-HABITAT set up in 1996, which can be used by partners. Aspects are highlighted from programmes and projects in a global network, which could provide valuable inspiration for similar programmes and projects in the area of sustainable development and support. Projects that have been entered into the database are also presented at conferences, in seminars and workshops and are case studies of successful development.
The SOS family strengthening programme in Salto, the second largest city in Uruguay, which is situated in the north west of the country (close to the border with Argentina), was chosen in a national selection process on the sustainable development of communities in areas with a poor infrastructure.

The programme is based in five community centres in different areas where families face particularly challenging living conditions. The programme, which is mainly carried out with the target group itself and in collaboration with the local government, reaches out to more than 600 children and their families. Information events take place on child nutrition and health matters; training courses and workshops target women in particular. Up to 380 children aged 18 months to twelve years are supervised at nurseries and day care centres, which takes the pressure off their mothers, who often are single working mothers. The programme aims to ensure that the children have a healthy development and, in parallel, strengthen the skills and capabilities of the family. As important stakeholders in this social network, community committees also ensure the sustainability of the programme.
The programme was co-financed by the EU, which allocated 750,000 euros for a five-year period. The funds were also used to finance the construction of an SOS Social Centre, which co-ordinates community-based network.

The struggle to reform Uganda's Education Systme started when my article containing some the proposed reforms was published in the New Vision News Paper of 19th May 2008, Titled, "HOW OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM CAN BE IMPROVED"
This has been followed by a concept paper prepared by me which was sent the the Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Namirembe Bitamazire and Copied to the parmanent secretary of the same Ministry.
Tomorrow, 23rd May, copies will be availed to all media houses including print and electronic and other stakeholder such as churchs mosques among others.
I believe this will to a fundamental impact to see our education system improved for the good of our children.
Pray for us.
FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY
It's absurd that a country that once faught aparthide as they enjoyed hospitality in the neighbouring countries, has resorted to Violence against fellow africans who gave them shelter and food when they where in need.
It's a shame!
Nomatter what they have done, they are our brothers and we should pray for them. Lets forgive them and promote peace in Africa.
You may be living in a curse that was laid on your great great grandparents yet you do not know and keep wondering why things don't seem to be working out for you!
Everything you try to do fails, you have qualified but no one wants to employ you, your sisters are getting pregnant when still young, your brother is criminal, your father is at the virge of losing his job, your wife is so adultrous and quarelsome, and many others!
You need to break that curse!
Welcome Jesus Christ into your life and accept him as lord and savior, then confess to him all your sins and the sins of your fore-fathers and great great grandies and ask him to forgive you and your forefathers of all the sins and mistakes committed.
Trust me, you will be freed and the curse will be Broken.
Be Blessed

In life, one needs a plan to help them make useful decisions that will enable them grow positively.
A Plan is what you do before you decide to do what you want to do. Like in development, planning must come first if one desires order. It is not good for personal long-term career development to just happen without planning or deciding! In today’s rapidly changing world, you must LEARN to PLAN and PLAN to LEARN because FAILURE to PLAN is PLANNING to FAIL!
Throughout your life time, as you plan to make a decision on what to do, you need to learn new attitudes and skills to deal with the reality of uncertain and rapid unpredictable change, the intricacy of career-life assimilation, and the need for teamwork . This will require a dissimilar approach than the traditional career planning process, which was developed before unconventional paradigm shifts and modern technology completely changed where, when and how we work, who
works, and how we define work. These changes have eliminated all the boundaries between working and living.
Today’s world is changing more rapidly, and becoming more intricate, and more unpredictable than ever before. In fact, change itself changes every now and then. Change no longer follows trends and the past no longer guides the future. Therefore, in planning your career future today, you will want to employ your “changeability skills” of open-mindedness, flexibility, and patience.
In planning your career future today, do not consider your career to be just your job, or occupation, or the work you do. Your new holistic mind-set will help you see your career as being the totality of your life, including the work you do and the workplace, but also including your family life and home, friends and community, other parts of your life and other’s life, etc. Therefore, your career planning must also involve learning to be aware of the many complex, interconnected, and continuously unfolding factors that contribute to your career development.
